- I sometimes read my old diaries and giggle and fret and hoot with laughter at who I was, at the sheer arrogance of my youth and my certain future. Who I am is a changeling thing, smoke blown through a mouth pursed and thin, or the slanted look and bark of a laugh when something ticklish happens. I like to be tickled, it’s lovely.
